Ross Willits-GuitarBluegrass, Roots & Classic Country Music

Since that time in high school when I got bit by the bluegrass bug and traveled around Wisconsin with a band we called “Foxfire,” music has been a special avocation for me.

I have been in and/or founded a number of bands in the last 15 years including the Whistlepigs String Band, with whom I recorded two award-winning CDs; PoBoy Local 151, a honky-tonk supergroup of sorts featuring members of the Roe Family Singers, Romantica, Urban Hillbilly Quartet, Farewell Milwaukee and Switched at Birth.

I have just founded a Gram Parsons tribute band called the Gilded Palace Sinners. Come hear our inaugural performance at the Turf Club on February 4, 2016.

I currently perform on my own or as a duo, with The Beguine Brothers Old Time Country & Western Revue (Ltd), and the Platte Valley Boys. Learn about these groups, check out recordings and videos, and find schedules on the pages that follow.

I also do some live sound engineering, and have run sound at a number of venues for my own groups and for others including national folk artist Ellis Paul, and bluegrass phenoms Blue Hazard. Contact me to discuss your needs.
